To provide a virtual and immersive experience of original works of art and to present temporary exhibits of the highest artistic merit and innovation, for the purposes of a unique artistic and educational experience.
Our Vision
Sedona, AZ will soon be the home of a unique, interactive fine arts museum. It will feature the works of artists, both living and deceased, who have been drawn to the beauty and animated by the energy of Sedona and the greater southwest; a jewel for our residents and an experience visitors to Northern Arizona will not want to miss.
FAMoS will be a distinctive venue fueled by innovative technology including virtual and augmented reality, as well as exhibitions both educational and immersive. It is designed to engage seasoned art enthusiasts, as well as those newer to fine art desiring creative experiences. From the local resident to national and international traveler, the museum seeks to offer an enduring experience between creativity and the sacred landscape of raw natural beauty and the artwork of those awakened by Sedona’s very spirit.
FAMoS’s initial phase will include an online virtual journey, defined by the artist’s creations, the stunning environment and the ever pervasive spiritual essence of Sedona.

Our History
In 2013 a group of arts and civic minded people came together with the idea of advancing an Art Museum for Sedona and the Verde Valley. The area has a rich history of artistic activity, with numerous notable artists both past and present working in all variety of mediums. The City of Sedona itself proclaims to be a city “Animated by the Arts” Millions of visitors arrive in Sedona every year seeking a connection with the area’s famed scenic beauty and other worldly properties.
The Sedona Art Museum *DBA - FAMoS (Fine Art Museum of Sedona) was established as 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the goal of building and operating an art museum for the benefit of residents of and visitors to the Verde Valley of Arizona. Since that inception, the Museum Board has set up the operating framework, commissioned a comprehensive site and goal specific museum planning report from a top international cultural consulting firm, implemented a popular Speaker Series, and embarked on the search for the right location, design, collection and capital to create a world class destination art museum for Sedona.
