FAMoS - Oral History Project
Fine Art Museum of Sedona
The first oral history video has been completed for the FAMoS Oral History project. The project is entitled “The Voice of Witness: The Importance of Oral Histories.”
Each year Sedona and the Verde Valley lose the genius of local artists who pass on. Oral art histories will be completed and archived in the museum to preserve a richness of detail, spontaneous reflections, and a sense of an artists character not available in written records. These videos can be used in the school systems to augment art history and art classes.
Once the FAMoS museum is completed, the board plans to use the Oral History Project as in educational capacity at the museum. Online sales of the videos may also help to augment funds for the museum.
Also, as an FYI FAMoS received a small ACF Grant to enable one video to be produced. MORE FUNDS ARE NEEDED TO CONTINUE THIS PROJECT. All donations are tax deductible.
