About The Event
AN EVENING WITH AMY ERNST
FAMoS is pleased to host an intimate dinner with Amy Ernst at the Village Chop House. The restaurant will be closed to the public. Chef/Owner John Ramagli will present a three-course meal with wine or beer. A donation of $25 per person will be included in the price of $125 per person. Please indicate your entre choice of salmon or steak.
Amy Ernst will be honored at the City of Sedona Moment of Art on September 12, 2023.
Amy lived in Sedona during her youth with her parents, the artists Jimmy and Dallas Ernst. Her grandfather was Max Ernst.
During a question-and-answer period Amy will talk about growing up in an artist family, memories of her family and other artists, and her personal artistic journey.
Amy Ernst received a B. A. in Theater-Arts from Emerson College, Boston, and her M. A. in Arts Administration from Indiana University. Ms. Ernst is the fourth-generation artist whose inspiration has incorporated her background with art historical references and theater set design. Her influence has come from the Medieval to the Renaissance and then to Surrealism. As a result, she has created her own signature; building collaged books, box constructions and various types of printing techniques using mono-print, solar-plate and stone lithography.
Besides numerous exhibitions in the United States, Amy, has exhibited in many countries, Morocco, Spain, Sweden and France, most recently in Germany.
