A photograph of the original microbe painting was published in Life Magazine, 1952, in 
an article about Max Ernst's tiny paintings called microbes.

The lithograph is same size as the original painting, less than 3 inches in size.
The lithograph was printed in Paris: Cercle des Arts, 1953. There were 1,000 created.
