Self Portrait 1970s

Nika Kohn Fleissig did many portraits of others and self- portraits over the years in different mediums. This is an early self- portrait. One gets a sense from her eyes how she approached the world. Her family said that despite the difficulties of the War and the Holocaust, she always looked to the future rather than to the past, and till her last days she exuded enthusiasm, hope, and a constant sense of adventure.
